You can execute a spin with a nunchuk shake as well, if you find spreading the waggle helps you cope.

The camera only bothered me very rarely. I just put it down to the fact that this game is incredibly 3D in ways that no other game I've played has been. I mean, most games do bind you to to a mostly 2D playfield, simply because gravity works that way.

And people who can't play Wii while sitting baffle me. Just rest the wrist of your wiimote-holding hand on your knee to stabilize the pointer and put your nunchuk hand wherever feels comfortable. If you don't need IR, you can leave a hand at either side for total slackness.

Edit: Oh yes, and there are quite a few titles that use the D-pad for camera control. SMG does let you use it under certain condiitions, but Godfather, Okami, and No More Heroes use it for camera all the time.
