Well the meltdown would certainly be funny (seriously I´d laugh off my butt). However if this were to be the remake the internet-"fans"(a.k.a hella expensive and lots of human resources put into it thus development stops or delays on other projects) want and if it was Wii U exclusive, then it might spell the end for square enix.

If not a single pokemon fan owned a Wii U (Super unrealistic) and if every person who bought a pokemon game is a dedicated pokemon fan (not simply "oh i own a 3ds might as well get pokemon")and if Nintendo made 2 Versions of said pokemon game and if every single one of those people was big enough of a fan to actually purchase a console for it and is not primarily a handheld gamer... then Wii U might get a boost of 12.7m. Now that´s a lot of "Ifs"...I think a realistic boost for overall install base would be sth around 2-3m as you have to consider fans who already own the console, more "casual" fans of the series, handheld gamers and the amount of pokemon handheld double dippers
