Who knows, maybe they are.

Fundamentally, I kind of wonder why Nintendo didn't immediately contact Ubisoft after they showed off that original Watch_Dogs trailer, and say "We want a special version of Watch_Dogs, we'll pay for it but it'll be subject to our QA". Imagine if all of the other versions of Watch_Dogs turned out the way the game actually did, but then the Wii U version was a clear cut above, living up to the gameplay of the trailer (though not the absolute graphical fidelity, of course).

By the way, Devil's Third may not end up being such a waste of resources. Based on more recent comments, it sounds like there have been some overhauls along the way that up the quality significantly. If it lives up to the promises made, it could be a smash hit (although I doubt it'll be anywhere near GTA levels), especially when you factor in the multiplayer it is supposed to have.

Wii U can't handle the original reveal's graphics, definitely not. Also, if Ubisoft were informed about some quality concerns, I'm sure they would have made the improvements on all versions, not just Wii U.

Go back and read what I said again, because I didn't say anything about Watch_Dogs trailer graphics happening on the Wii U. And I'm not talking about general quality issues... in fact, I wasn't even suggesting that the Wii U version would resemble the other ones so that improvements would apply across the board. I was talking about a distinct Watch_Dogs game, with gameplay and style specific to the Wii U version. Note the wording of my comment: "living up to the gameplay of the trailer". Not "duplicating the gameplay of the trailer" or "duplicating the gameplay of the other version at the quality of the trailer".

Everybody, and I mean everybody, who saw that first trailer could immediately see the potential for that gameplay to be fit to the Wii U in a way that wouldn't work on any of the other home consoles.
