Yes PS4 did destroy other platforms for hardware sales last year in Japan, including Wii U, PS4 isn't at it's peak yet, because it hasn't had the best games suited for the market yet, this year will be far better, that's a fact.

PS4 isn't below Wii U in aligned numbers, it's ahead and will continue to rise based on the games we know to be coming out this year.

I read everything (not sure how you can listen to something that doesn't make a sound), took it all in and dealt with every point you tried to make, you just don't like what the facts support. Wii U isn't as popular as PS4 is in Japan or globally, which is what the sales figures show. TBH it wouldn't even matter if Wii U was beating PS4 in Japan, because it's a tiny market compared to the rest of the world.

The platform has sold over 2X as many consoles, along with nearly 2X the software globally, which is what matters in a sales debate and PS4 has a lot more games scheduled for release in Japan.

As far as this thread goes the topic's question is answered, PS4 will most definitely sell better in Japan, Wii U is a system on the decline in sales in Japan, while PS4 is on the rise.

BTW I'm actually going to buy a Wii U, when Zelda and Starfox come out, because I want to play those games, there are a number other titles I want to play on Wii U too, I actually consider Wii U the only 8th gen console worth owning besides a PS4 this generation, because of it's exclusives, I'm just realistic about how well Wii U can sell. It'll be profitable for Nintendo, which is all that matters for Nintendo and they have some great games coming for their install base on the platform.

"PS4 isn't below Wii U in aligned numbers, it's ahead and will continue to rise based on the games we know to be coming out this year."

Are you seriously repeating that even after admitting wii u's first year was higher. wii u was at 1.6m afer 56-57 weeks and ps4 will be a little over 1.2m on the same number of weeks.

Are you seriously repeating that after I pointed out that PS4 hasn't even had numbers for the 52nd week of sales?

PS4 has a lot more games incoming than Wii U, which I previously mentioned in a reply to you. No PS4 will not be at just a little over 1.2M in 56-57 weeks, the games incoming will push it much higher than that in Japan.

Dragon Quest Heroes sold over 250K on PS4 at release, 46,139 of that were probably PS4's sold, which is what Media Create says. Souls is a huge seller in Japan, Bloodborne will probably do even better, FF T-0, etc, there's plenty of other games coming out by the end of March that will all have a combined and constant effect on sales.

You can't seriously be trying to argue otherwise when there are so many Japanese focused releases launching for PS4 in that amount of time, PS4 will definitely be ahead, it sold the figures we've been given, with virtually no games for Japan, the boost will be huge and there's also adjustments that need to be made to VG Chartz numbers, because PS4 was clearly undertracked.

PS4 sold 20.2M units globally, by the end of Feb globally, VG Chartz has the system at 19.4M by the 14th of Feb, there's no way it sold 800K in 2 weeks, but if it did Japan must have garnered at least a few 100K of those sales, so it's probably closer to 1.4M up until the 14th of Feb in Japan, it had already sold a little over 1M by the 8th of Jan, according to Media Create  (http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/01/08/ps4-sales-pass-one-million-units-in-japan-after-strong-otoshidama-week-and-a-year-of-highs-and-lows/), since then there have been more games out and Sony has made their announcement for 20.2M sales globally.

In all likelihood PS4 is more than likely ahead within the same period of time, that's what would make the most logical sense based on the current data we do have.
