I'm just noticing that it's slowing down quickly. After the recent ports of Crysis 3, MGR and RE5 for Android and NVidia's effort, I think handhelds are done for. If the AAA games keep coming to mobile and someone creates a decent joystick add-on or a smartphone with buttons (that doesn't includes the same mistakes of Xperia Play) they will be a thing of the past.

Apple created a patent for an analogue stick on mobiles that only appears when you push down on it to make it pop up. Nobody wants a phone with thunbsticks but if the user can make them appear and dissappear it becomes a game changer.
