Wii U marketing has been terrible and when consumers are confused about what your product is and whether or not it is a true successor (the Wii U is not really at all related to the motion controls of the Wii) and I also think the lack of a big 3D Mario has had very bad effects on sales

I honestly feel as if Nintendo had released the Wii U with a more straight forward ad campaign, different name, and maybe something like a "Super Mario Galaxy 3" title then it would be selling way better

people around here like to mention 'what games could save the Wii U? Mario Kart and Smash Bros. already came out' but they fail to remember how popular 3D Mario games are (done right) and what a Galaxy title could have done at launch for this system

done right? in what way. Smash and Kart still blew the sales of both Galaxies away so no I dont think a Galaxy 3 wouldve helped not to mention it launched with a 2d Mario that is way more popular anyway.
