This isn't just Nintendo. No matter what 8th gen console we're talking about, every announcement seems newsworthy to people. If the Wii U gets a port of a game for Xbox One and PS4, it's news. If Xbox One or PS4 gains another exclusive, it makes the news. I remember 20 years ago when both the Genesis and SNES had a lot of exclusives and a lot of multiplatform support. Then games themselves were what became newsworthy, not the number of games each system had. It seems that everything has been reduced to mere numbers.
