This is not how things work. There are so many things more than floating points that affect what resolution a game can reasonably run at. The reason why Xbone suffers at running games at 1080p isn't that it doesn't have enough theoretical power, but because its memory bandwidth is absymal compared to the PS4's. You are also assuming that there wouldn't be downgrades in texture detail, polygon count, number of assets, etc in a possible Wii U version. Nobody is saying a straight port with a downgraded resolution is possible, but certainly the Wii U's disadvantages can be accomodated for. |
True, but none of the other elements effect performance to the same level as the resolution does. (except number of assets).
I do not know if you are a PC gamer but most things do not affect performance to anywhere near the level that resolution and AA does.
If you were playing a game at 720p and 50 FPS with low detail textures and then change the textures to ultra you will drop to 45 FPS or so from my experience.
