"The XMB has been phased out starting with the PlayStation Vita, which adopted a new touch-based user interface called LiveArea. On February 20, 2013, the PlayStation 4 was announced, and a new, non-XMB, user interface was shown."

"Sony has just announced a complete overhaul of the user interface for the PlayStation 4. The XrossMediaBar is totally gone from this iteration..."

False information. The PS4 still uses the XMB but in a different way to the PS3. When Sony revealed the PS4 in Feb 2013, we did think it had be ditched. But it still does use it, it was even shockingly shown off by Yoshida months before launch.

I also use a PS4 a lot and its there, albeit an adapted and evolved version.
