Square Enix doing what many "B" movies do when a blockbuster releases. Try to milk sales because the name is similar.

You know like "The Hunger Game" and then b move "The Starving Games"

Now before someone panties get in a bunch. I'm not saying Xenogears is "B" movie. Just using the movie industry of pandoring similar names, but completely different games to sell off another hype.

Well Square-Enix wouldn't be involved in development. They will just sell the rights and get money, like Sega did with Bayonetta 2. 

Also a Square-Enix already has the game ported to PSN, so this would be something in addition to a port that would benefit all parties. Nintendo, Square-Enix, and many gamers (albeit - not all.) Only party I'm iffy on is Monolith Soft. It might just not be something they want to do.
