I haven't had a legitimate "system seller" since the PS1/N64 days (wanted a PS1 for Spyro and an N64 for SM64). I bought a Dreamcast because it was $50, I wanted a PS2 off the strength of the PS1, plus the slew of games that were out by 2002. I got a PS3 off the strength of PS2 (can't say anything about the games as of November 2007, but 2 Playstations in a row being extremely fun? More than happily invested early). Got a 360 because I was given $200, so I traded in some games, and got the system for like $180. And I got the PS4 off the strength of Playstation, period, at this point (lower entry point, seeing MSs MO for the gen, and some other factors also influenced that).

If GTA V was WiiU exclusive, it'd just be one of those games that just wouldn't get played. Not since I was 8 years old did I think one game was worth a console purchase (I did want a 3DS just for Dream Drop Distance, because I absolutely love KH, but I didn't buy it myself or ask for it. Friend got it for me for Christmas on a whim because I mentioned the game. Similar situation for Birth By Sleep. Didn't get a PSP, friend let me borrow his PSP). There may be some games that I really really want to play, but unless I think the investment is worth it, I'm not dropping that kinda dollar on a console for one game. WiiU has many critically acclaimed games, but I don't care for Smash, Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, etc. And then, outside of that....what would I play on the WiiU?

If GTA V was WiiU exclusive....I just wouldn't have played GTA V, I guess.
