I struggle to understand this reasoning. I love games. I will want to play a game if it looks fun/awesome/unique, regardless of what platform its on. That is the biggest factor for me. I remember reading game mags, game manuals and watching other people play games when I visited their houses and just yearning to play those games. Had absolutely nothing to do with the operating system's ability to track my achievements in those games. Reading posts like this saddens me as an indie dev. If people play more for now for reasons other than how much fun a game will be, then what am I putting so much passion into developing games for? Shouldn't I just work like a typical business man and have a list of features the masses want and just do that? How did you use to play your games before trophies and achievements were introduced? |
I'm still going to get a Wii U, it has a few games that I'd like to play like Bayonetta 2, Mario games and Donkey Kong games... What I mean is I'd be even more excited if it had something like trophies or achivements and I probably would purchase the console earlier.
