Really? I thought it was generally considered that Canon lead that. But then it's a very busy market. There are loads of manufacturers all putting out some good technology, Panasonic, Pentax, Olympus, Nikon. Yet, Canon and the latter 3 in the list here are mainly camera manufacturers, so it's another area where Sony is competing.

But I get ya, none the less. And your last point in your post, I agree on. More streamlined company can only mean better profits overall.
