Sony could very easily change the landscape of computing, if they truly put everything behind PlayStation. With no more reason to support PC/Windows, and their ties to Smartphones/Android on the wobble, the time to turn PlayStation into their own all in one Computing/Games/Movies/Live TV/Music/Communications Platform is now.

Sounds good. but the problem as always with Sony isn't a lack of great ideas or potential, it's rather an abundance of poor execution. With everything Sony related, they seem to almost go out of their way to find a way to mess it up and make things harder for themselves. 

You can't really say this about most companies, but you can definitely say it off Sony; Sony is Sony's own worst enemy. They never get beaten, yet they seem to find a way to lose. 

Exactly.  Sony comes up with an endless stream of amazing ideas.  Actually I would say that is a fact.  However their products almost always fail to meet even half of  their potential.  Examples:

 

-Smartwatch: They had the first one that did everything even most of the newest ones do.  It even had decent app support!  However their was ZERO marketing and they failed to support it longterm.  Even their newest Smartwatch 3 has been called "The only good smartwatch" by several review sites and yet they don't market the damn thing at all!

-PS Home:  Should have been amazing from the start but took nearly 5 damn years to even come close to its original concept.  It never even really reached its full potential as an MMO The Sims competitor.

-Xperia Z1-3:  The entire Z line (Especially the compact editions) have gotten constant praise from customers and reviewers.  They come with multi-day battery life, water proof capabilites, sleek designs, great UI's, and Flagship performance!  Yet again, no marketing and until the Z3 it was hard as hell to get ahold of one in the US!!!
