Because Street Fighter has more links. I will get into all of that in my explaination video. You cannot cancel attacks when you do links. Attack canceling is chaining them. There's a huge fundamental difference between each, and Street Fighter IV has both types of combos. Tekken has links, but the hit-stun is longer, but there's a buffer window.
You can press square, then chain into triangle on your controller, and your character will do that move AFTER he's done his first attack. Can't do that in Street Fighter. You have to press that button directly after your first attack has ended. The combo portion of Tekken is easier than street fighter, however, overall, Tekken is a harder game to play.
But that's why your combos aren't working in Street Fighter IV. Those are links, not chains don't treat them like it.
