Where I am going with this is that an educated consumer wouldn't buy the Wii U either. I am not sure if you are one of the people who believes that "smarter" consumers would buy a Wii U, but it's something that is brought up commonly enough to address it. |
What is a smart consumer?
A consumer buys what he needs and what is within his means. I don't think you can define a smart consumer by what he buys but rather how many times he buys the wrong things and needs to send them back. So not buying a product doesn't make consumers smarter or dumber. In reverse buying a thing doesn't make a consumer smarter or dumber.
Note that "wrong product" means in this case that the consumer wouldn't have bought it if he educated himself beforehand.
So I don't think there even exist such a thing as a smart or dumb consumer. There are just idiots and non idiots and people who do things efficiently and those who don't.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
