Believe it or not people find stuff like that to be quite annoying.

When you go into the theatre do you normally tell people (while waiting in line) that they should look into a movie first before laying down money for their ticket? "Excuse me sir, but do you know Kingsman only has a 59 Meta?"

He was getting information from the staff, If he wasn't asking questions I wouldn't have said anything.

That changes things then. You made it seem like he was buying it and you just blurted out info about it's metascore and basically trying to talk him out of his purchase.

When people do stuff like that to me I usually respond by saying "If I wanted your opinion I would ask for it."

Although if he asked the clerk for info and you just inject yourself into the conversation because you didn't like the info he was  giving, you are basically undermining him, so no doubt he would be aggrivated.

Oh, yeah I should have explained  that better. My bad. I agree 100% with you about the opinion sharing. And yeah I don't blame them for being  mad, Id flip my shit if someone did that to me. But I felt I should step in, should I have just minded my own business , probably. But If the roles were reversed I'd hope someone would do the same for me.
