Of course I do, just like i can feel attached and cry about a character in a movie or by reading a book.
I'd be dead inside if I couldn't
And what would be the point of following through with a story if i cant empathise with any of what's happening?
Storytelling would be pointless if it's just for you to process it like information as a computer would do and not letting it have any sort of impact on you as a person.
As anyone here seen the movie Equilibrium? I love this scene where Christian Bale's character hears music for the first time and it moves him to tears.

That movie was basically about a society where anything that might cause an emotional reaction was eradicated and people are drugged to numb their emotional response. Literature, art and music are banned. Totally recommend it, it's a 2002 movie.
