Of course! The Last of Us is the most obvious recent example, starting with the damn prologue. I also had Majora's Mask recently, which was rather surprising, because I wasn't expecting to care about any character in the Zelda series =P
I find myself a rather empathetic person. I usually find myself avoiding movies that have waaaaaaay too depressing endings. If it's a depressing story with at least a bittersweet ending, it's fine. But throw me a downer ending, and I'll feel pretty bad myself.
I also see myself getting way too sad when the plot involves a dog dying, for some reason. I see a bunch of people dying in movies and stuff and I'm fine, but the moment I see a dog passing away... that story just became a tearjerker for me. It's strange...
