Wii U attach rates for huge exclusive games make the ps4, xbox one, and 3ds look like jokes. The denominator means nothing for Wii U games. I think the Wii U may have the most actively loyal userbase of any console ever when it comes to Nintendo exclusive products. Just look at these...

Roughly 8-9 million Wii U's sold:

1 New Super Mario Bros. U WiiU 2012 Action Nintendo 2.15 1.00 1.23 0.27 4.66
2 Mario Kart 8 WiiU 2014 Racing Nintendo 1.86 1.17 0.90 0.28 4.21
3 Nintendo Land WiiU 2012 Action Nintendo 2.25 0.88 0.44 0.26 3.83
4 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS WiiU 2014 Fighting Nintendo 1.71 0.59 0.59 0.19 3.08
5 Super Mario 3D World WiiU 2013 Platform Nintendo 1.46 0.72 0.63 0.19 3.00
6 New Super Luigi U WiiU 2013 Platform Nintendo 1.18 0.55 0.16 0.15 2.04
7 Wii Party U WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.29 0.39 0.81 0.08 1.57
8 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.71 0.36 0.12 0.09 1.29
9 Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze WiiU 2014 Platform Nintendo 0.48 0.32 0.13 0.08 1.01
10 Lego City Undercover WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.42 0.29 0.11 0.07 0.90

The first 5 have insane attach rates. NUmber 6 is a freaking EXPANSION/DLC that roughly 1/4-1/3 of all Wii U owners own. Windwaker is a remake and it has STILL sold over a million and it was one of the most hated Zelda games of all time for almost a decade. Tropical Freeze was the game we needed and deserved yet no one wanted it and it still sold over a million. Lego City is a LEGO game without any big Nintendo characters in it and it sold close to a million.

X is waaaaay more hyped and desired than City (the ??? game), Freeze (the game nobody wanted, except for a few like me), Wind Waker (remake of a hated game by most), Wii Party U (I don't even need to say anything...), NSLU (DLC), and potentially more. But let's say it's not more. Let's say it's not more desired than 3d world, that means it is still going to sell in the 2-3million range on Wii U in it's first year alone. X is going to sell like bonkers because the Wii U has the craziest most loyal exclusive game fanbase of all time imo. And Bayonetta/Wonderful 101 don't really count because neither of those games are massive budget, open world projects like X (and the consumer knew it), and they were both either incredibly weird/hard to get into (101) or so crude and inappropriate that most wouldn't touch it (Bayo 1 and 2). X is going to sell at least 2-3 million first year imo.

Being dlc, super luigi U is probably much higher than those 2m retail copies. I think X can totally sell 2m+ lifetime. Of course, it could become a hit and sell way more.
