The thing is, the sales numbers on this site are largely innaccurate so no one in their right mind would pay a dime for them. And I seriously doubt ioi pays retailers for sales info. As for the other guy mentioning advertising with the big guys, the diffiulty this site faces when doing that is that it still lacks credibility in the industry, Ioi first needs to work on making the numbers more accurate and once that happens sponsors would follow. |

I have no agenda. One cannot argue that the software numbers of VGchartz shows a large disparity to those of NPD. If I had an agenda I wouldn't be writing paragraphs pointing out some flaws in the sites administration such as untargeted ads and amazons low commission rates. |
That's the whole point!. WE DONT WANT TO BE NPD. We don't want to have their figures. Can you give me that link that proves NPD is 100% accurate? I'm gonna wait right here for it. |
The point of the site isn't to be as far away from NPD as possible. Regardless of wishful thinking, NPD is more accurate than this site when it comes to tracking sales numbers. Every game publisher uses NPD and most game publishers track their own titles internally, so the NPD numbers are close to the real thing.
With that said, I don't mind ads. They seem to be in pretty much the same spots as before. A lot of work goes into this site and if they need or want money for it then I have no issues with that.
