If their ''vision'' ends up  not meeting expectations, then yes its a mistake,no matter what way its spun

Who's expectations specifically ?

If you mean the developers then your wrong on that part since it's usually how they intended it it to be ...

If you mean your expectations then maybe but you can't make the assertion for the consumers unless the same sentiments are shared ...

That's how it works for anything. You can have any type of vision or whatever you want for your own product. However if you release it,no matter what vision you have in mind and it doesnt meet the expectations of the people you're selling it to(Your consumers/audience),then the vision is a mistake.

So far its for reviews/reception,their ''vision'' has been a ''mistake''.

But we wont know for a few more weeks if the actual vision these devs had was a mistake or not because the bulk of the sales will come from its first week of sales, which are from the early adopters. So after word of mouth spreads,we can see how the game performs in its 2nd and 3rd weeks and see what the consumers say with their wallets
