was the game really hyped? I mean it definitly had massive interest, but to me hype is well, like Destiny. No one was expecting this game to an instant classic, even most Sony fans were saying high 70s low 80s would be great. I did not see any "How many GOTY awards will The Order win" type threads, and if there were it would have turned into a flame war.

Hype implies expectations of greatness, I never saw this most were just hoping it to be good while the other side was hoping it to be bad. Thus the insane amount of interest.

This game was just a lighting rod. And it still does not make logical sense why it happened.

I would say so.

Sony pushing it hard and members of various forums including this one actively promoting it in a major way for the better part of a year makes it hyped.

I would agree that it wasn't hyped like Destiny. But then, nothing has really been hyped like Destiny.
