I was seriously annoyed by that and from what I am getting from your responses, it doesn't seem the be the case here with The Order. I will find out soon though.

Oh, then yeah, it's nothing like that. You do end up thinking "How can you end it like that?", but not because the end reveals some big new twist revelation that answers every old question, but brings about 20 new ones.

It's more like you're reading a book chapter by chapter, and then you finish one chapter, only to realize that there are no more pages, but you were expecting like five more chapters. And then you think about it more and think "Wow. That was the end of it."

So not exactly a cliffhanger but just a disappointing ending. That's a shame. Maybe they will have some post ending DLC to ease the pain of that wound.
