Yeah, that's one thing that stood out to me as well.
It's as if most people who already have a PS4 in Japan are those who enjoy western games a lot.

It's important to consider that the larger Western games have a lot more visibility now than they have in the past. GTA5 was the top selling PS3 title the year it released. These series are regularly pushing 6 figures and many franchises get over 250k every year. It's not surprising that hardcore early adopters would be interested in these Western titles.
