Watch the Japanese direct, there will be plenty to do in this world. You have to support your city by collecting resources, clearing enemies from areas, finding lifepods, gathering intell, etc.

There are also other species and cities from alien races. You can teleport to any area you previously visited and there's even a guidance ball that shows you the correct way if you don't want to get lost.
