It has nothing to do with being a fan of the story. I love the story in Wind Waker. Doesn't mean it's a good, deep, or well written story. Zelda stories are as "good" as any rudementary nursery rhyme. And the ones that try to go further than that are straight up badly written, like with TP and SS. You compare Zelda stories to those of any moderately respected works of literature, even down to something like The Lion King, and they don't hold up at all. Zelda stories are not good. They are sometimes charming, always mediocre, and that's it.

And yes, it is a matter of opinion. You know what else is "just a matter of opinion?" The ethics of murder, rape, and racism. "Just because you aren't a fan of murder, rape, or racism doesn't mean that everyone else agrees with you. " See how that doesn't work? Not everything can be waved away with an opinion alibi. It's the cheapest and most ineffective way of discrediting someone.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, get off your high horse, and don't mention rape and racism in the same breath as kid friendly video game stories. It isn't the same thing. They can't be compared. Save that shit for some other time.
