I think in terms of review scores the fact it's Zelda is actually double-edged. Sure, it helps it appeal to Zelda fans and what have you, but also it draws the comparison between it and a series of exceptionally high pedigree - a pedigree that it doesn't live up to. People have ridiculous expectations of Zelda games. So yeah, maybe the scores would have been a touch lower, but not much really.

Of course one should remember that this game being a Zelda title actually helps the quality of the game. A large draw of the game is the nostalgia factor, and there's no reason why this shouldn't be factored into review scores.
