False logic. This is ranking and nothing more. While generally the higher you are the farther the distance that is not always the case. You will find many situations where 1-3 are very close while 5-10 are very close and 10-20 are fairly close. This is ranking, making any claims between the gaps is foolish. 1-5 might have a smaller gap combined then 5 and 6 while 6-20 might also have a smaller gap combined than 5 and 6.
Amazon should never be used for software sales. First of all Amazon has deals all the time and sales are constantly going on, this highly distorts software sales. When they have quick sales, there are more PS4 owners which. These are impulse buys, and so when the deals happen are a lot closer to the userbase than traditional new games at full price. For quite a while games like COW were cheaper on the PS4 on Amazon even though everywhere else had them for the same price. Unlike consoles, the software sales are always in flux and are always a bigger percent in price difference from actual hardware. |
Yes I agree with you about the trying to use the Amazon sales ranking to distinguish the amount of sales between each. But there is logic to what I'm saying. Maybe I didn't explain well in OP but read some of the other comments.
And yes, Amazon sales can cause one platform being pushed more than the other but if they have a sale they tend to do both platforms instead of just one. But, like mentioned in other posts, when NPD has the PS4 version of the game ahead, it always is ahead on Amazon but when NPD had the X1 version ahead, most of the time the PS4 is still ahead.
