Overall, it HAS to be Awakening but their are other ways the games can be judged.
In terms of localization, I'd say Awakening followed closely by the former King in the West Path of Radiance.
In terms of game content, (as in the number of things you can do in the game and unlock) Awakening again is at the top, followed by Radiant Dawn.
In terms of Gameplay (ie maps, challenge and other no frills game based stuff), Radiant Dawn followed by a tie between Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem (GBA) aka Blazing Sword.
- Love Awakening for what it does but outside of the higher difficulty where the game cheats none of the main game maps are that difficult beyond surviving an onslaught. Even normally pain in the butt desert level that is in every FE game was manageable on a first go,
In terms of story, that is very subjective, I personally still hold Path of Radiance as the best single story Western FE fans have been legally provided. But I understand others may prefer any of the others more for the particular ways those stories handle things.
In either case, I hope the next one actually blows everything else out of the water, although I still wish despite it being highly unlikely due to costs that we could get a console edition again.
