I think the biggest barrier to motion control acceptance on the PS3 or 360 would be the nature of the games that dominate those libraries. "Waggle" itself would probably be seen as somehow "non-mature" by the hardcore audience, while the (arguably more open-minded and fun-oriented) Wii target demographic gets a big kick out of it, especially in a family/party setting.

The Wii's IR pointer control would probably be more accepted on the HD platforms because it really does work well in shooting situations, and previous-generation light gun technologies don't work at all with progressive scan displays. I can't now imagine playing Godfather or Scarface without being able to aim freehand; locking on is for #&*@(*# #**#.

Okay, maybe I played a little too much Scarface this weekend.
