It had a great comeback andbecome profitable for it's last few years. It will probably never make it all back but it set Sony up nicely to return to domination with the PS4. You do realize that PS3 ate up all of the profits the PS1 and PS2 made right? Sony has lost money from the PS brand despite selling almost 400 million consoles (psp included). How is that one hell of a comeback?

If your enjoyment does not rely on the profits of the PS3 then why does it rely on how much it sold? Strange way of thinking.

It should be about the games.


I was pointing out how it made a comeback with good sales not how I enjoyed it m read my post again and you will see that. 

Have you any hard evidence that suggests the ps3 wiped out the ps1 and ps2 profits?  

Maybe it did at the beginning but between the last few years of profitability and the coming money maker aka the ps4 they are gonna be nicely in the black come the end of the ps4 overall.  

 

The past doesn't bind the future and Sony are definitely in the best position going forward.  Ps plus in a few years will have over 20 million people paying 50$ a Year.  That's over 1 billion in yearly revenue.  Playstation between the ps3 and ps4 are now moving mountains of software so it's all looking rather rosy. 

 

I shouldn't have to state this but again these facts don't enhance the unbelievable experience playstation is currently giving me and has been since 1996. Long may it last.
