this is bizarre.

I am comparing the wii directly with the ps4 at the same time in their lifetimes.

PS4 2nd holiday v Wii 2nd holiday

I think we arent going to agree that this is perfectly fine so best we leave it.

I'm refering to what you said below in bold

The PS4 has sold less than the Wii in each of the last 3 months when comparing months gen on gen.

Combined, it is 2.60m v 2.06m.

Wii hadnt even entered its high selling phase by this point either.

I thought I made that clear. Nobody is doubting that the Wii outsold the PS4 or whatever that argument is.

Here you are using a trend, a trend that you state seeing stronger growth in the second year. And then you're then using PS4 yoy sales to claim that 1 month of data in one region confirms a shorter gen when the truth is that all 3 consoles over the last 3 months as sold more that the same period last year.

I simply saying stop twisting trends and use trends that make sense. Also you have to look deeper into the data. Where there games released? Price cuts? and also look at my previous post that talks about consumer buying habits changing. Every year we see a larger drop from Nov+Dec to Jan. Like sated in original that post I think it's down to stronger Black Fridays and the rise of online shopping that creates sales more front loaded over the 3 months.

It's not black and white, you have to also look into the grey patches.
