I always found it ironic about the NAACP exists, if they want to make one version of the same term 'bad', then at least remove it from the name of an organisation that represents the people it's meant to be insulting against. It's much to the reason I generally use the term 'ethnicity', I'd like people to find fault in that (they will try probably). |
The NAACP and the United Negro College Fund are both sort of grandfathered in because they're very old and respected. They have a lot of history so I can understand them not changing it, but it does go to show some of the double standards around the whole intentions vs. forbidden words issue.
