whats going on with the SW how the hell is XB1 selling more?

Well, it's not! Here is the Microsoft PR excerpt:

more game sales per console than any other platform

They only talked about tie ratio win, we can easily assume PS4 did in fact sell more software overall during january.

Because if Microsoft had sold more SW overall they certainly would have told us...

Actually if you look at the NPD software list, on a few of the multiplat games, it sold more due to it being listed first in the brackets next to each game.

correct why is gta, destiny, cod ect selling more on xb1 while amazon was showing everything but COD doing better on PS4 even if you discredit amazon if ps4 sold more HW in Jan and has more than half a mil lead on XB1 in US then shouldnt these titles sell better on PS4

all i can come up with is that these  games sold more frontloaded on PS4 when they released if anyone has any current released SW totals please post them here they could be selling marginally better on XB1 monthly but there totals are all greater on ps4 need NPD SW totals to figure this though

I'm not sure. Looking at the number, Amazon even has COD on PS4 selling the most in January while NPD has the 360 selling the most. On Amazon COD 360 is way down the charts compared to the PS4.

It could be due to software sales being a lot harder to track because every store will have a different price. When prices are the same across the board, Amazon can be very accurate.

It could also be down to buying habits. We know that the average age for Xbox owners is younger. Younger people could be more inclined to buy their games from brick and mortar shops like Game or from gaming dedicated websites. Of course this is me speculating but just trying to point out different factors that cause conflict between NPD and Amazon data.
