Mass Effect does a great job of letting you customize your character but also letting him have a personality to go along with it (Granted, the customization options are piss poor and they are two very different games) |
Yet Metroid and Zelda are some of the only franchises in the world to always score 90% on metacritic. The one time Samus talks is the one time it fails to hit 90%.
Oh and not to forget 3D Mario platformers.
