The multimedia functionality on a protable was th emost talked about hype of the device for its time. Hence why it launched better tha DS (well in AUS at least). Everyone was putting their  video, music and roms on it. was  great times.

Your logic makes no sense to me. How does that make it the only reason? It's like saying that even if it had zero games, it would have still sold 80m. You can say the main reason, but the only makes zero sense. 

No I am saying the only reason it reached 80million not total sales. THe multimedia functionalty added on top of the base number, which i reckon would have been closer to 50 million.
