lol, the 50s and 60s when there were segragated drinking fountains and school children had to practice drills for nuclear fallout and luxury meant having one 20 inch color TV instead of three smartphones, two game consoles, microwave, home PC, tablet, high speed wifi, Netflix, etc. etc.?
People have it pretty damn good today. And it's debatable if the USA ever was the "best country in the world", Canada and UK were fine in the 50s and 60s too, Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall is a very nice place too. There are plenty of nice countries to live in with nice modern amenities and similar liberalized values, probably will less crime to boot.
If you don't like it you can go try living in Saudi Arabia or Syria for a year and see how long you can hold out.
