Could be done easy?  If that was the case other companies would also be doing it right now, you keep saying there is no demand, or that no one wants it. But the ironic thing is how many would want an FM radio chip inside their phone that , as you could say no one wants; but yet companies put it in there and now people when they buy the smartphone it most of the time already has a FM radio chip included.

And this is the best response yet, you states this:

"and they still need an antenna, the chip doesnt change anything about the need of a antenna to get a good signal.  its like radios, they till need an antenna if you wanna get a good signal, and chips cant change this fact, its the physik, stupid.."

Stop and think about what you just wrote for a min, and think about how the FM radio chips work inside smart phone's...which is quite ironic you brought them up!

Example: you said it need's a physical antenna......LMAO you are correct it does, so how do you get one on a smartphone today WITH NO ANTENNA STICKING OUT...Hmmmm, there has to be some way right?

Just like smart phones that has a FM radio chip included that all you do is plug in ear buds or external speakers to pick up reception!

so you think intern antennas are free and take up no space?  they use the bluetooth/wlan chip for fm, so there is no need for anoter antenna(wlan/bluetooth needs an antenna too).  and the iphone had fm for years, they just didnt cared for it and hardware locked it.

I never stated it was not going to take up space, What i stated by the size and its stacked configuration that being it is small and low power requirements, than many companies could infact put such a chip inside. You seem so hell bent on claiming that "no one wants such a chip" that is like saying no one wants such a higher class Cmos camera sensor because the 8MP one is Good enough!

its not about the consumer, its about what a smartphone could offer to the consumer at a cheap price, and it allows Companies to offer such functionality for their smartphone's, Tablets, and Pc's because if they do not some one will!

Look I know your standpoint on this and you have been very clear in your opinion, one i do not agree with, but what i stated is quite True, if Sony was going to sell off its Mobile, why are they spending more investment money on Technology that "no one wants" ?

its one thing to say, its not viable, or its pointless, its another thing for the company to invest million's on million's on a chip that as you keep saying "no one wants"

water proofing your smartphone was seen to be a gimmick by many until it was being used on many companies phone's and it become big additional thing to have for your smartphone.

its not really wanted feature, until it becomes a wanted feature.

Mainly by other companies offerings other than Sony, the ironic thing is now Sony seems to be making more technology iP that other companies are willing to buy components off of, so why would Sony stop doing that now?
