The movie tells people that war isnt a good thing for american soldiers but not for the people who get invaded

well it's told from the perspective of an American soldier of course it's going to show the negative effects for him. Also it's more of a character study than a war epic so it's going to focus on him instead of general suffering (no pun intended with general)
