I only played the DKC games, didn't like them. But Star Fox Adventures was amazing in my opinion, Tricky's hungry!!
And talking about overrated developers.... Tri-Crescendo is the most underrated developer ever. Their sound works for Tri-Ace and Square Enix is of very high quality. And Baten Kaitos/Eternal Sonata/Fragile Dreams are ART in motion, such beautiful and artistic games... Hooray for music references!!
