Not about control, just mutual ideals. All Fox have to do is let mutants be part of the MCU and I'm fine with it, the X-men need never appear along side Cap or Hulk, they rarely do anyway in comics (until recently anyway). BUT Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch not being mutants? Their father not being Magneto? That's a little too much for a fanboy like me to ignore.

I completely agree. Mutants are the backbone of the Marvel universe. However, I doubt Marvel would want Fox to keep control of the characters and I don't see how a deal would benefit Fox in anyway besides a little extra money. They're still making great, profitable X-Men films and they've built a pretty nice universe. With that said, I wish Hugh Jackman would get a cameo in a MCU film. It would be fucking awesome just to see a glimpse of him with the other Avengers.

Creating new characters won't help them as people watch the films for the characters they know. Look at the Day of Future Past. A setting in the future and they only use known characters? They could have easily made them all up but didn't. I wonder if they aren't allowed create main characters that are new mutant characters.

Anyway, Marvel/Disney are getting frustrated with Fox's lack of co-operation. X-men have had a good history with cartoons but they are no longer being made. Claremont said that they aren't allowed to create new mutant characters in X-men which might explain why there was a sudden stop after Bendis created his little few.

Even then, how long can Fox hold on to the characters? Sure they've done a reboot to a point (time travel) but Hugh Jackman can't play Wolverine forever and many watch the films just for him.

Hmm, pie.
