Considering nearly 300 different characters have been released (including variants / exclusives), only a small percentage are actually Spyro.

The first game introduced Spyro, Cynder and Sparx (from the Legend of Spyro series).  Although they have removed Spyro as the main character in the sequels, he is one of the few characters that they still market with each game.

Considering the 3D platformer market is dead right now (even Mario doesn't get the sales he once did), this is better than nothing.
