Because as far as the american consumer it is, if a game or system sells poorly here (Uncharted, Sega Saturn) that fact that its preforming well in the rest of the world is a non-issue. The sega saturn selling well in Japan didn't suddenly make American consumers more willing to purchase a Dreamcast did it?
