If I remember correctly, the sales numbers for Skylander toys have been down year over year in 2014, so a decline has already set in. 65m is still a great number, but I don't think that Skylanders will have the staying power of something like Pokémon which is approaching its 20 year anniversary. |
I think Skylanders will have some staying power, Pokemon too declined from Gen 1 to Gen 2 to Gen 3 and has stayed pretty consistant from that point on. U also have to take into account competition, Disney Infinity launched in Fall 2013 and Amiibo in Fall 2014 so they now have to share the NFC figurine market with 2 other popular brands.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
