Why? This is my most cherished series of all time. I grew up playing Zelda, and I hope they will still be making Zelda games when I'm an old man. Such iconic music, characters, the whole universe is so expansive and amazing.
The Sonic Series:
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
Sonic 3D Blast (PC version)
Sonic 3 and Knuckles
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
and most of all: Sonic Colors.
again another series I grew up with. The music in this series is so effing cool. My best friend and I would blare "Live and Learn" like retards when we were teens. So much fun to play. Racing transformed is the best racing game I've ever played and Sonic Colors totally blew me away (after the long while of not very good Sonic games I almost missed out on this)

How can Mario not make my list. Videogames biggest mascot has had some of the greatest games ever made. Many titles did not make the list simply because to me, these are by far the best games in the Mario series and most memorable.

Tropical Freeze
DK 64
Donkey Kong Country was the first videogame I owned. I guess this is the game that started it all for me. Best 2d platforming series ever IMO!
Super Smash Bros Series:

Megaman Series:
Megaman 7
X, X2, X4, Maverick Hunter X
Megaman Zero series
Megaman Legends
This series has some of the greatest music in videogame history! I also find them very hard (X in particular), but so addicting! Zero is one of the coolest videogame characters ever! -sidenote, I would love an anime on the X series so much!
Batman Arkham series:
Origins (yes, even Origins. In fact, even Origins Blackgate)
Asylum
City
This dark take on Batman brought me back into being a Batman geek. Best combat system I've ever experienced in a videogame. Oh, and Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill make these games ALL that much better! Here is to hoping Arkham Knight will be just as great!
Bayonetta 1/2
These games really are addicting. They introduced me to and made me fall in love with hack and slash games. If you own a Wii U, grab this game, you (probably) won't regret it.
SSX series:

SSX 3 (one of my favourite games ever!)
Totally unrealistic snowboarding was so much fun. I still find myself replaying SSX 3 from time to time. This game reintroduced me to music as well, with Jerk It Out being my favourite song when I was in grade 7. Shit time flies. Great soundtrack!
