I think you missed his point.

He is not saying it is bad to enhance sales. He is saying it's bad to avoid the market on purpouse and that if you are losing money per unit sold, selling more isn't a win.

I'm not missing his point I'm just reinstating mine which he danced around. How are they avoiding the market anyway? Because most third party's will not port a game to them? Boy if that is the market today we are screwed gaming wise. Like I said numerous times Keep worrying about the beating the other companies and you will end up like Sega. All Sega cared about was beating Nintendo didn't care about game development, quality, and what fits for Sega, just we need to beat Nintendo. Nintendo does those three things and it's the reason people come back to Nintendo

Yep... All those 9M of Nintendo on WiiU are with them just because they don't think about beating competition (they never tried monopoly and squat concorrence during nes times, ending in their demise on n64) while all the 160M ps2 ownersjust bought because Sony only though about destroying Nintendo. Makes sense, and having 9M fanbase is clearly better.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"
