Not quite the same since the Gameboy player was a peripheral and Vita TV is a standalone product.


They're the same thing. The Gameboy player was a GBA. The only thing it used the gamecube for was to output video onto your television. The hardware obviously wasn't as advanced as a Vita is, but it still was GBA hardware. Also a Vita TV should be classified as a Vita TV. As it is meant to be a set top box first. A game console second.
