Perhaps you should read the The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel penned by Frank Miller.
That fight actually happens, and it's THE greatest graphic novel in history, period.
Batman, old and decrepit, comes back for one last run at the Joker.
Spoilers:
Batman kills the Joker, and the president orders him hunted down by a still young superman.
Batman uses an Iron suit to protect himself long enough to allow his friend, Green Arrow(I think it was him) to shoot superman with an exploding arrow made of kryptonite.
Batman, old, dies of a heart attack. His last words to Clark Kent:
"Always remember. In your most private moments. My hand on your throat."
Yeah, Batman coulda killed Superman, but he let him live.
Still, it was all a trick. Batman faked his own death to elude superman without killing him. He had the last Robbin(a cute young chick he was probably having sex with) dig him up a few days later. Superman figured it out, but didn't push the matter, because of his love, respect, and fear for Batman.
So yeah, Batman kicks the everloving shit out of Superman every time the fought. It's an obvious victory. Brain wins out over brawn everytime. Superman has a weakness, it's too easily exploited.
You seen Sin City? In TDKR, batman is more killing, more of a badass, than all the characters in that movie, combined.
