At first it was a portable PS3 with Uncharted, AC, KZ:M, Gravity Rush, etc. Now it's becoming something totally different, a console that fixes a unique need with all these great Japanese games. Virtue's Last Reward, Danganronpa 1 and 2, Kingdom Hearts R, Persona 4G, FF X & X-2 HD and many other Japanese games are experiences that I can't find anywhere else. On top of that it's the best way to play PSX classics (can't stand them on a big screen), though I still miss Xenogears in the EU PSN Store 
Why, Sony? Just give me that bloody game!!
Last but not least - there are some great indies coming to it. I'm not a big fan of indies, but there are really some great games coming and I'm excited to play them.
To keep it short - it has great games, offers a unique experience different to my other consoles and the backlog keeps on getting larger with every passing month 
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
